Ideas for Decals, Labels, Stickers

From your storefront window to your address labels, custom decals, stickers and labels are a great way to add a personal touch to everything your business does. Here’s how to get the biggest bang for your buck.

Tip #1: Build brand identity.
Use decals, stickers and labels to advertise, build identity and brand recognition, and support promotions. Because they cost little to design and print, decals are an ideal medium to deliver information to prospective and current customers – without breaking the bank.

Tip #2: Create your own volunteer sales force.
Why pay for ad spaces when you can get it for free? If you own a local business with a dedicated customer base, give away bumper stickers or car decals at your store and enjoy free, vehicle advertising.

Tip #3: Make sure your decals are an item of ‘value.’
Clients or customers will only display your decals if they want to be associated be associated with your product, company or viewpoint. The best way to ensure your wall deals, vinyl decals or sticker decals are of ‘value’ is through creative and powerful graphic design.

Tip #4: Don’t skimp on the design.
Stickers may seem like small potatoes next to a billboard advertisement, but they’re still associated with your company. Don’t let a design error bring your brand down. Decals – whether they are wall stickers, a window cling or a car sticker – deserve the same attention to detail and design as any form of print advertising

Tip #5: Double your advertising and use both sides.
When you design your stickers, keep in mind that there are two sides to every sticker. Not utilizing the backside (the white paper that’s peeled away) is like paying for advertising space and then leaving it blank. Put this space to work by including contact information or a special one-time coupon, such as a free drink or 10% off purchase discount.

Tip #6: Generate instant credibility with professional labels.
Labels instantly brand your small business as sophisticated and professional. Seal customer boxes and bags with your store logo labels for a classy touch.

Tip #7: Address labels are a must.
Sure, you send hundreds of emails every day. But when you mail a special letter or card, make sure the address label does double duty for your business. Turn your logo into a custom address label; your business will look professional and increase visibility.

Tip #8: Maximize mobile advertising.
If you aren’t ready to commit to a full-blown vehicle wrap or vinyl lettering, consider a tasteful vehicle decal. Even if it’s small, a decal on your back window or bumper is better than no decal at all!

Tip #9: Make people pay you.
If your brand is already strong with a loyal customer base, consider selling your decals for a small price. When priced right ($1 to $5), bumper stickers or car window decals can quickly sell out. That’s right; people will be paying you for the privilege of advertising your business.

Tip #10: Decals are the new business cards.
Is your Rolodex (or desk drawer) filled with a stack of forgotten business cards? Don’t let your contact information end up in the same pile. Instead, give out small decals with your info when meeting customers, clients and business associates. You’ll be increasing visibility, building brand identity and even better, your business cards will really ‘stick around.’
